Samina Farid (2018) is helping create opportunities for individuals with autism in Houston. Ms. Farid was an "activator" for Spectrum Fusion, an organization that helps people with autism find a sense of belonging and purpose.

Rati Thanawala (2018) is launching a leadership academy for women of color in tech. Recently funded by the Women of Color in Computing Collaborative, Ms. Thanawala's leadership academy will identify and share unique strategies to accelerate career advancement in tech.

Mary Jo Meisner (2017) was named a "Leader, Legend and Pioneer" by Boston's Get Konnected. Ms. Meisner was recognized for her socially conscious leadership as vice president of the Boston Foundation and as a journalist and newspaper executive.

Gay Browne (2015) has launched a new book to promote environmental health and personal well-being. Ms. Browne's Living with a Green Heart shares a roadmap for making incremental changes that will improve your life and protect the environment.

Mary Louise and Bruce Cohen (2014) are matching skilled refugees with jobs around the globe. The Cohens' Talent Beyond Boundaries has compiled a database of 10,000 skilled refugees and is connecting employers with much needed talent.

Eduardo Carvalho (2013) is creating a center for developing innovative projects in education and global citizenship. With the support of partner institutions, Mr Carvalho is helping construct a nine-story state-of-the-art building in Recife, Brazil .

Joe Mandato (2012) says that diversity is a boardroom upgrade. Mr. Mandato co-authored an article for Columbia Law School's blog on corporations and the capital markets on the important role of diversity in boardroom leadership.

Ray Jetson (2010) says that data and determination are critical to improving cities. Rev. Jetson spoke before the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge to discuss the businesses and organizations that serve as anchors in distressed communities.

Shelly London (2009) is the 2019 Dole Humanitarian Award winner. Ms. London received the award from the University of Kansas Department of Special Education for her work to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Samir Toubassy (2009) is sharing his story, offering perspective and lessons drawn from the aspirations of a refugee. Mr. Toubassy recently released a memoir, My Nakba: A Palestinian's Odyssey of Love and Hope.

ALI Faculty Board Member Amy Edmondson (HBS) says the recent Boeing crashes highlight the importance of encouraging employees to speak up. In an article for Harvard Business Review, Prof. Edmondson argues that the absence of psychological safety can lead to disastrous results.  
 
ALI Executive Committee Member Howard Koh (SPH) says clinicians and public health experts should focus on flourishing. Dr. Koh co-authored an article in JAMA describing new research that shows happiness is a factor in people's overall health and well-being. 

ALI Founding Chair and Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter (HBS) received the Thought Leader Award from The Association of Learning Providers. The award recognizes Prof. Kanter's body of work in support of work-related learning and performance.
