Young readers ages 0-17 can complete reading activities for prizes. Register online and download your BINGO card. All instructions are included on BINGO card. You can also register and pick up your BINGO card at any Valley Library location starting on June 1st. The reading program ends on July 31st.

Readers ages 18 and up can complete reading activities for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate. To participate, pick up a Reading Takes You Everywhere BINGO card at the circulation desk. Complete any BINGO and turn in the card in exchange for a chance in the prize drawing. The reading program ends on July 31st.

Join us for our Summer Reading kick off. Cartoonist Paul Merklein starts things off at 10:00 a.m . with an all-ages show. At 11:00 a.m. , show off your geekiest costume in the cosplay contest. At 12:00 p.m. head upstairs for old-school video games, cartooning lessons, crafts, a photo booth, and more. All ages.

Renaissance Science,
Magic, and Medicine

The magic in J. K. Rowling’s series of
Harry Potter novels is partially based on Renaissance traditions that played an important role in the development of Western science, including alchemy, astrology, and natural philosophy. This special exhibit explores the intersection of these worlds, featuring highlights from the collections of the History of Medicine Division at the National Library of Medicine. This exhibition was developed and produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health and curated by Elizabeth J. Bland.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Bring your stuffed animal to the library for a pajama party! Leave them overnight for a stuffies-only sleepover, then pick them up the next morning and check the library’s Facebook to see what they were up to while you were at home asleep.
