Transportation Update

Pottsown Area of Route 422: The right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Keim Street and Sanatoga interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove, Montgomery County, on Monday, April 16, and Tuesday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for shoulder reconstruction as part of a project to rebuild 1.6 miles of U.S. 422 and construct new structures over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Lower Pottsgrove Township

Now - Summer 2018:
The ramp from eastbound U.S. 422 to Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) is scheduled to close in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, beginning Monday, February 12, for construction on a new fly-over ramp at that interchange.The ramp closure will be in place through late summer.

During construction, motorists will be directed to continue eastbound on U.S. 422, exit at First Avenue and make a left on Gulph Road to reach Route 23 (Valley Forge Road). Drivers should allow additional time for travel near the construction zone because backups and delays will occur.

Ursinus College presents Elizabeth Powell & Anna Maria Hong Reading & Book-Signing. 

Elizabeth Powell is the author of  The Republic of Self , a New Issue First Book Prize winner, and Willy Loman's Reckless Daughter: Living Truthfully Under Imaginary Circumstances , which was a 2016 New Yorker books we love, a Small Press Best Seller, and won the 2015 Anhinga Robert Dana Prize. Visiting Creative Writing Professor Anna Maria Hong's first poetry collection, Age of Glass, won the Cleveland State University Poetry Center's 2017 First Book Poetry Competition and was published in April 2018.

Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy presents Lenape Challenge, a unique two-person adventure race that combines 5 miles of off-road running with 2.5 miles of paddling on the Perkiomen Creek. The course starts at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy in Schwenksville and takes you and your partner on a romp through fields, woods and up over the slopes at Spring Mount. After a wicked climb and maddening decent, you'll hit the Perkiomen Creek for an epic 2.5 miles of boulder dodging and rapid running in Old Town canoes. You'll finish the race with a dash to the finish... just you, your teammate and a wet canoe.
