REMINDER!
2019 Public Survey on the SRCS Superintendent's
Progress and Performance on District Goals

The San Rafael City Schools (SRCS) Board of Education is conducting a mid-year performance evaluation of the Superintendent, Dr. Michael Watenpaugh. As part of the evaluation, this survey is a tool for the Board to receive community input regarding the Superintendent's performance and progress. The SRCS Board is interested in receiving feedback from everyone who is vested in San Rafael City Schools.

Please note that respondents have the opportunity to remain anonymous or to provide their name.

The survey will be open until Friday, February 1, 2019.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey and sharing your feedback.

A subcommittee of the SRCS Board led the survey development and has approved this survey. The Marin County Office of Education is supporting the survey distribution and data compilation. If you have any technical questions about the survey, please contact the Marin County Office of Education at 415-491-6604.

The Board will review the survey results in connection with conducting the mid-year evaluation. The Board plans to complete the Superintendent's mid-year evaluation at its meeting on Feb. 11, 2019. The Board will make its decisions about the Superintendent's performance evaluation and employment agreement based on the best interest of the District and our students.

The Board previously conducted the Superintendent's performance evaluation for 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years in August 2018. This mid-year evaluation will further inform the Board on the public's perception of the Superintendent's performance. The Superintendent's performance evaluation, as every employee's performance evaluation, is required by law to be confidential.

This survey is available online at www.srcs.org and hard copies are also available at SRCS school sites. Hard copies can be returned to SRCS school offices or to the Marin County Office of Education, Office of the Superintendent, 1111 Las Gallinas Ave, San Rafael, CA 94903.

BACKGROUND
This survey focuses on Superintendent Watenpaugh's performance and progress in meeting the Superintendent's goals, which are the District's goals as outlined in the District's Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs). The LCAPs serve as the District's three-year strategic plans and have five goals, with related measurable metrics; outcomes; actions and services; and budget expenditures.

The five LCAP goals are included in the survey. Also included are a few examples of key initiatives, which serve as a snapshot of the extensive LCAP documents. Given that San Rafael City Schools is two distinct districts (the San Rafael City Elementary School District and the San Rafael City High School District), there are two LCAPs. More information about the LCAPs and links to the full documents are available at www.srcs.org/lcap.
The next regular SRCS Board of Education meeting is
