Thanks to WILO’s acquisition of American-Marsh Pumps, we’ve been given the opportunity to maintain the American-Marsh brand. WILO now maintains sole ownership of the AMP intellectual property. The WILO and AMP teams have successfully reestablished sourcing, enabling us to restock our full product line, including a complete offering of AMP line shaft, submersible turbine, mixed flow and axial flow pumps. We are also able to share our facilities with WILO for the ground water product line and utilize our testing facility for WILO Mixers.

Improvements to the AMP campus include new equipment for our manufacturing facility, better communication lines between departments and the rebuilding our sales team. Reopening our training room doors for employees and distributor training sessions has been another exciting opportunity! WILO has allowed us to bring back knowledgeable and experienced former employees. They have also enabled us to offer new benefit and compensation packages to help recruit new talent!

Recent customer survey results have shown opportunity for us to significantly improve as we move toward 2021. We plan to utilize a central call center during working hours, eliminating the automated system and making it easier for our customers to contact the appropriate person. Our website, literature, drawings and performance curves will receive a major overhaul and update. Access to these documents will be easier than before.

WILO SE, headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, announced that it will set up a second headquarters in China this year, followed by a third headquarters in the U.S., to have regional hubs that act largely autonomously. The idea is to insulate WILO against future trade disruptions and protectionism.

The test lab at American-Marsh Pumps is a fully contained 250,000 gallon test pit and a 10,000 gallon vertical tank for the testing of both vertical turbines and horizontal pumps, which includes horizontal, vertical inline and mixer pumps. AMP test lab is also FM and UL listed for fire pump testing.

On the vertical turbine side, AMP has a 12’ to 20’ pit, with a 6’ diameter recess that goes up to 30’ to accommodate deeper set configurations. The test pit has discharge capabilities including 6”, 8”, 12”, 16” and 36” lines with flow capabilities from shutoff to 30,000 gallons per minute. Power capabilities include 208V, 230V, and 460V with a VFD to simulate both 50Hz and 60Hz test requirements. Horse power is limited to 700HP at 460V, and 100HP at both 208V and 230V. AMP uses MAGNIFLOW gauges for a more accurate flow readings with pressure gauges up to 1500 PSI for both performance and hydrostatic testing.

On the horizontal pump side of the test lab, the 10,000 gallon tank is used to feed the suction pressure needed to ensure accurate performance testing. It has discharge capabilities including 2”,4”, 6” and 10” lines, with flow capacities from shutoff to 15,000 gallons per minute. AMP uses MAGNIFLOW gauges for accurate flow readings with pressure gauges up to 1500 PSI for both performance and hydrostatic testing. The power capabilities include 208V,230V and 460V, with horse power of 5HP up to 400 HP at 460V.

Scot Pump has had a great year full of exciting new products. With the new US Department of Energy efficiency requirements in mind, we have developed over 70 new pumps! These new models have been designed and tested at our brand-new test lab and performed so well we have branded them Scot Elite. The new pumps are offered in cast iron with many also available in stainless steel, Ag versions, and framepumps.

We are incredibly proud of our achievements this year and know you’ll love the Elite line as much as we do! We are still supplying and supporting our Scot Classic pumps and continue to work to expand our offerings to fulfill our customers’ needs. As always, we thank you for your support.
