MPA/MPP/PhD STUDENTS AND FACULTY:
ARE YOU DOING RESEARCH ON EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT?

ENTER NASPAA’s POSTER COMPETITION AND SHARE YOUR RESEARCH WITH THE WORLD! YOU COULD WIN A FREE TRIP TO SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO TO PRESENT YOUR POSTER!
The purpose of the Student Research on Emergency Management, Risk, & Resilience poster competition is to stimulate research by MPA/MPP/PhD students and faculty, to share their term paper, capstone project, master’s thesis, or doctoral dissertation.
You can create your poster electronically and email it to us OR you can do it in pen and/or printouts on a 24”x36” poster paper and send us a photo of it from your smartphone.

The Student Posters will be visited by the attendees to the NASPAA conference. It is therefore important that your poster is clear, concise and well laid out for maximum impact. You may include graphics or charts, but be sure your poster can tell a story for the reader in 1-2 minutes. The poster can be based on any level of graduate student research: term paper, capstone project, master’s thesis, or doctoral dissertation.  Students from all NASPAA schools anywhere in the world are eligible to submit posters . Faculty are encouraged to submit posters as well, but they are not eligible for the competition. See complete poster guidelines.

The topic of the conference is:
Risk, Capacity, and Resilience: Preparing the Next Generation of Public Service Leaders

  • Vulnerable populations and resilience: equality and inclusion in emergency management.
  • Growing dependence of society on technology and what happens when technology fails.

  • Course/curriculum design for emergency management in public administration/policy education.

Posters by faculty members and instructors are also encouraged, but they will not be eligible for the student travel scholarship to the conference. Faculty submitting posters of exceptional interest may be invited to present their poster via Zoom.
