Message from the Minister

Dear Spiritual Community,

The story is told about the early days of Unity when there was a great financial challenge. Someone said the obvious, "I hope our money holds out," to which Myrtle Fillmore replied, "Let's hope our faith holds out."

If you scroll down in this newsletter you will see our first quarter prosperity report. From a purely objective, financial perspective, we are spending more than we are attracting, otherwise known as deficit spending. If it were just one month where expenses were higher than normal we could justify the overage. However, you can see that it's every month so far in 2019. Let me assure you that we on the Board of Trustees are very aware of this fact and are the process of finding ways we can turn our ship around toward "breakeven" waters. But, we can't do it alone. Each one of us who calls Unity Christ Center their spiritual home will need to participate.

And, this starts first with deep, affirmative prayer. Not the kind of prayer that's quick and easy like "Say two affirmations and call me in the morning!" kind of prayer. Rather, it's about each one of us establishing a prosperity consciousness within ourselves that includes us as well as our greater spiritual community. Our collective faith needs to hold out.

The writer of the Book of Hebrews said of faith, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." - Hebrews 11:1, New International Version. Right now, we're not seeing a balanced budget at Unity Christ Center. That's a fact, but not the truth. Facts and truth are different.   Facts are figures. Truth is eternal principle. The truth is that through our faith in God as the ONE SOURCE, we can be confident (literally, with faith) that the balanced budget we hope for is already in the process of coming into reality. That is the assurance of what we do not see. We may not know the how, the manner by which this will unfold, but it can happen if we hold to this vision of the truth.

Let's engage ourselves in a prosperity practice. We'll need to use our imagination a little. Imagine an abundance of money, dollar bills, 5's, 10's, 20's, 50's, and 100's raining down on Unity Christ Center, pouring into it to the point of overflowing. Try it out. If it seems weird to you, acknowledge the weirdness, and do it anyway. Do it for yourself too! Envision money pouring into your household sufficient to meet all of your needs and positive wants. Every time you think of the deficit, imagine money flowing in.

Folks, we're gonna turn this puppy around!

With richest blessings,

Alden
