Slurry seal work begins on July 1
Slurry seal work is being performed on more than 150 Washington County roadways from July 1 and Sept. 30.
Slurry seal is a mixture of asphalt emulsion, mineral aggregates, water and additives. It is a cost-effective preventative maintenance treatment that extends the life of the road surface while causing the least amount of inconvenience to travelers and residents. Slurry seal treatments fill cracks and voids, seal the surface to prevent water from penetrating roadway surfaces and improve skid resistance.
Those who own property on roadways scheduled for slurry seal applications will be receiving postcards with information on parking restriction and traffic impacts. In most cases, work will be completed in one day between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
For more information or to sign up to receive email notifications about slurry schedules visit the Slurry Seal Program webpage or www.wc-roads.com.
