Good Things are Growing at Grandbrier

With a little help from friends, Grandbrier of Prospect Heights residents are getting ready to plant their very first community garden. Grandbrier residents' budding friendship with students from Anne Sullivan Elementary school will culminate on May 30th when fifth graders give us a hand planting veggies and flowers.

A big thank you to the local Boy Scouts from troop # for helping jump start the project by building high-rise garden planters, painting and filling bird feeders and potting flowers.

Flora and Fauna Inspiration

A visit to the Garfield Park Conservatory was the perfect way to get psyched for the new community garden!

Colorful hydrangeas, daffodils and petunias had everyone dreaming of a colorful flower patch to call their own.

Bye-Bye  ButterfliesButterflies

As part of an Earth-friendly spring tradition, Pathway to Living residents released butterflies that they raised from caterpillars into the world.
Butterfly releases symbolize many things, but the most fitting is the notion that we are small and appear to be the same - like the caterpillar - but as we grow older our true beauty shows-like the butterfly!
