the Rev. Constance Chandler-Ward, 82, of Tenants Harbor, who died in an automobile accident on April 2. Her obituary may be found
here. A service will be held on April 21, at 11 a.m. at the Thomaston Baptist Church.

Merton Henry, 92, of Scarborough, prominent Mainer and long-time member of Trinity Church, Portland, who held many leadership roles in the Diocese of Maine over the years, upon his death on April 6. His obituary may be found

here. A service will be held on April 14 at 11 a.m. at Trinity.
Congratulations to ...
Congratulations are in order for members of our diocese exercising leadership in The Episcopal Church beyond the Diocese of Maine.
Archdeacon Aaron Perkins, of St. George's, York Harbor, who was elected at last week's Province 1 Synod to a six-year term on the Executive Council, as the clergy representative of the seven dioceses of New England. Aaron has been a leader in the provincial Deacons Network and the Association of Episcopal Deacons.
John Hennessy, director of the Maine Episcopal Network for Justice and deputy to General Convention, who has been appointed to the Standing Commission on Program, Budget, and Finance of The Episcopal Church.
the Rev. Kit Wang, who begins a three-year term as President of Province 1, succeeding Bishop Lane, who is finishing his term. Kit has served for three years as Vice-President.
Barbara Martin, Executive Assistant to the Bishop, who is completing a two-year term as President of Bishops Executive Secretaries Together (B.E.S.T), an church-wide organization of assistants to Bishops Diocesan.
And, finally, congratulations the
Maine Episcopal Network for Justice upon being awarded a grant from The Episcopal Church to develop a model state-wide public policy network. The $10,000 grant marks the final grant of a three-year cycle.

Profile, Nomination, and Application timeline announced

More than 800 people took the diocesan survey. This wordcloud reflects the most common answers to the question:

The Discernment Committee has completed its final draft of the diocesan profile, and it will be under design for much of April.
We intend to have the profile available in early May. We will receive nominations for the Tenth Bishop of Maine through the end of May.
Please prayerfully consider if there is an Episcopal priest you know whom you would like to nominate. We will have information on how to nominate at the end of April.
The diocesan profile, a nomination form, and application forms, will be published at www.bishopquest.me
on May 3.
Nominations for the 10th Bishop of Maine will be open from May 3 to May 30. (Self-nomination is welcomed.)
The Discernment Committee will accept applications from May 3 to June 4.

St. Paul's, Brunswick, seeks a full-time assistant priest
We are seeking a full-time energetic and innovative organizer priest who will:
- Develop meaningful relationships with our children, youth, their parents, and their extended families, leading them into a deeper relationship with God, one another, and into service in the world.
- Build programs to integrate children and youth into the ministries of St. Paul's, educating and empowering them for discipleship.
- Recruit and train adult leaders to form our children and youth in our faith tradition, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant.
- Experienced with digital tools and use existing and emerging technologies to connect with youth, their families, the wider parish, the Episcopal Church, and the greater Brunswick community.
- Collaborate with the rector, celebrate the Family Worship Eucharist and develop innovative liturgy that will be accessible to all worshipers.
St. Paul's is excited to be living into a radical welcome for all and looks to reimagine our engagement with children and youth.

St. Elizabeth's Jubilee Center seeks an executive director
St. Elizabeth's is a ministry of eight greater Portland Episcopal congregations that offers essentials to its neighbors every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 in the undercroft of St. Luke's Cathedral.
The newly-formed Board of Directors seeks someone to take on the role of Executive Director, a position that will require about 15 hours a week.

Realm, a pledge management software program, is used by some congregations in the Diocese of Maine. There is interest in starting a Maine-based customer support users group to share information and tips, but we need to know which churches use the program to approach the company.

Upcoming in Maine and Beyond
St. Peter's, Rockland, co-hosting screening of Behold the Earth on April 22
In celebration of Earth Day, on April 22nd at 1 p.m., Rockland's Strand Theatre will screen
Behold the Earth,
a documentary film that considers the possibility of
charting a course to a brighter future. The film also asks the question, "Could a journey into Creation determine the future of the church?"
This screening is co-sponsored by The Strand Theatre and St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Manette Pottle, a member of St. Peter's and co-producer of the film, will be joined for a post-screening discussion by the Rev. Peter Panagore. Panagore served for 15 years as host of
Daily Devotions, at the First Radio Parish of America. Several local conservation leaders will also join the panel discussion.

Two Roads Diverge: Choose Life - an afternoon conversation about Ignatian Discernment
The Ignatian Spirituality Partnership of Maine invites all to this presentation on "how to make good, spiritually-based decisions" on Sunday, May 6, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
at St. Pius Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland,
(across from Payson Park). Ample parking is available. A free-will offering will be taken to support future Partnership Programs. Join us for a weekend on beautiful Lake Megunticook, at Bishopswood near Camden, Maine. The annual retreat is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life and be refreshed.
This year, we'll use Celtic and Ignatian resources to help us connect with Christ in nature, scripture, community, and the depths of our hearts.
