San Diego Region Represented at the National Adaptation Forum
The San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative, Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, City of San Diego, and Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation were all represented in presentations at NAF.
San Marcos will host public meetings to seek feedback from residents throughout May.

Governor Newsom issued an executive order that aims to address chronic state water issues.

This is the fifth year in a row San Diego has remained at this ranking, as designated by the American Lung Association.

Funding & Resources

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) will make investments to restore and strengthen natural systems so they can build resilience in coastal communities while enhancing habitats for fish and wildlife. Pre-proposals due May 20. 

T his is a federally-funded grant program that allows California to provide local and rural fire departments with minor firefighting, training, communications and safety equipment for their volunteer firefighters. Applications due May 21.

The San Diego IRWM Program has re-opened this Call for Projects due to changes to the Final PSP. Any new projects submitted will be added to the project list and scored/ranked with the others. The Call for Projects will be open through May 22.

This grant round will fund planning and implementation of managed retreat, natural shoreline infrastructure, living shorelines and habitat enhancement projects. Applications are due July 1.

USDA's Sustainable Agricultural Systems Request for Applications focuses on approaches that promote transformational changes in the U.S. food and agricultural system in the next 25 years. Applications are due September 26.
