Preview of New Hands-on MSSC Logistics Certification Scheduled March 9-12, Atlanta, GA
At the MODEX trade show organized by the Material Handling Industry (MHI) in Atlanta with some 1000 industry exhibitors, Amatrol and MSSC will preview a MSSC training and certification system under development called Certified Technician in Supply Chain Automation (CT-SCA).
This is a higher-skilled, higher-wage technician who
installs, operates and maintains the automated material handling equipment and systems in the nation's e-commerce distribution and fulfillment centers. Amatrol will demo the first prototype of a "Skill Boss-Logistics" device for the three hands-on MSSC CT-SCA Certifications.

NCSCA Symposium- March 9-12, Atlanta, GA
On Monday, March 9, Neil Reddy, MSSC CEO, and Paul Perkins, President of Amatrol, Inc., will introduce the hands-on CT-SCA Skill Boss Logistics program during the National Center for Supply Chain Automation 3rd

MSSC Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) Summit March 3, Raleigh, NC
At the invitation of the North Carolina Community College System, MSSC will present at a CFT Summit in collaboration with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA). The purpose will be to define all the elements of this comprehensive, standards-based training and certification program.
Joined by a cross-section of forklift distributors and systems integrators in NC, the Summit will also detail the critical relationship between the NC community colleges, who will be responsible for CFT's academic education and the hands-on training and assessments that will be conducted at the dealerships.

Second Coalition for Career Development (CCD) Summit a Solid Success
The sold-out, January 8 second CCD Summit at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown DC demonstrated the growing support for CCD's vision of making career readiness for ALL students the first priority of American education. Prominent speakers from The Business Roundtable, The Manufacturing Institute of the National Association of Manufacturers, IBM, JP Morgan, the Business Council for New York State, the National Governors Association, and Western Governors Association underlined the continued strong industry and gubernatorial support for CCD's vision and goals.

Scott Stump, Assistant Secretary for Career Technical Education at the U.S. Department of Education provided the Trump Administration perspective. On the Congressional front, Congressmen Langevin (D-RI) and Thompson (R-PA) briefed on their new bill, "Counseling for Career Choice Act," which aligns closely with CCD goals.

CCD Recognizes Pace Industries, CEO, Scott Bull
At the CCD Summit, MSSC Chair Leo Reddy, who serves as Co-Chair, CCD Founders Council, presented a CCD Recognition Award to his fellow Co-Chair, Scott Bull, CEO of Pace Industries. Scott has played a key leadership role in the funding, development, and political support for CCD.
When Scott led a public unveiling of the CCD White Paper at the Capitol Visitors Center in April 2019, Virginia Foxx (R-NC) Ranking Minority, House Education and Labor Committee, and Steve Womack (R-AR), Ranking Minority of House Budget Committee, attended to express their support. A celebrity CEO in the South, Mr. Bull served as quarterback of the AR Razorbacks and the San Francisco 49ers in the 1970s.

Manufacturers Ramp Up Spending on Workforce Training
A new Manufacturing Institute survey finds that nearly 80% of manufacturers are ramping up their workforce training, with the sector spending an estimated $26.2 billion in 2019 on training programs for both new and existing employees. 69.9% of firms reported that they were either creating or expanding internal training programs, and 84.6% reported job-related technical training. 63.1% reported offering tuition assistance.

Shrinking share of adults thinks college is 'important'
Data recently report by Gallup
shows about half of U.S. adults (51%) think having a college education is "very important." The results indicate the public view has diminished in recent years. In 2013, 70% of respondents to a similar survey said college was "very important," though a bigger share of respondents in 2019 said college was "fairly" important (36%) than did in 2013 (23%).
