Penny Wars – 2 More Days to Help our Sister School!
|
1, 2, 3, 4! We declare a Penny War!
This week,
April 22-26
, each grade level at Walt Disney is competing in a Penny War! Put pennies in your grade's jar (near the library) to add to the total. Put silver coins and paper money in another grade's jar and that amount will be deducted from their total.
All funds will
benefit our Sister School,
Fremont Elementary in Antioch. The children attending FES are in great need of uniforms and school supplies for the upcoming school year. Last year, Walt Disney Families raised over $750 for this event and 5th grade won the prize.

The winning grade level earns bragging rights, a most excellent trophy, and an extra recess.

DESEF Shining Star: Eric Pinkela
|
Each year the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation asks its affiliates to select a member of their school community to be honored as a Shining Star.
This year, DESEF is proud to honor
Eric Pinkela
, a fellow WD parent and volunteer extraordinaire.
Whether you know Eric from his time on the board of PTA, as a Boy Scout leader, or as the current Executive Vice President of DESEF, you know he is someone who can always be counted on to help out and to do so with a smile.
We are grateful for the strong sense of community that Eric helps foster and are pleased to be able to recognize him as our Shining Star.

Thank you to all of our families who helped us raise more than $1,400 at the Gianni’s Dine Out event Monday night.
A special thank you
to our dedicated teachers and staff who spent an evening donating their time as wait staff for the event.
Veronica Saxer, Keri Cliff, Lisa Crowley, Jenny Jerkins, Chris Schnarr,
Catherine Sandusky, Geoff Peppler, and Curtis Haar
made the event a huge success.
During the evening, the Lui Family won our raffle for four Disneyland tickets. We raised more than $1,600 to finish off our year of fundraising.

Alamo’s 3x3 Adult Regional Basketball Tournament

Alamo School PTA Presents:
The 3x3 Adult Regional Basketball Tournament!
This is the first regional adult basketball tournament of its kind,
not to mention a once in a lifetime opportunity to
school
Principal Haar and his team!
- Open to anyone 21 years of age and over
- Offers paid referees, scorekeepers, and the opportunity to play in recreational or competitive divisions.
- Each team is guaranteed three pool games and at least one playoff game.
- The tournament is capped to the first 32 teams in the area.
- Team registration is $100.
