March 16th, 2017

If we're honest, most of us are driven by a desire to control. Our obsession with control can interfere with our relationship with God and prevent us from yielding our flesh to the power of Jesus' redemptive blood. As we continue following Christ's journey of life, death and resurrection this Easter, we'd love for you to join us for week 5 of Resurrect Me as we confront our unhealthy and unrealistic addiction to control and explore what it means to fully trust God. Dr. Bill Bouknight will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services; Pastor Trevor Miller will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services. See you Sunday!

Food Drive

This Sunday is the collection day for our food drive. Bags are to be dropped at the LICS truck parked between the 2 buildings. For this food drive we are collecting full sized items of peanut butter, jelly, pork and beans, instant potatoes, mac and cheese, soup, canned tomatoes, and spaghetti noodles and sauce.

Missional Opportunity

Our church has a heart for missions, and one of the ways we demonstrate that, is by showing love to people in need who live right here in our local community. We do this through strategic partnerships. For women and children who are in crisis, are abused, are rejected and all alone, we partner with 3 organizations in Lexington County. Samaritan's Well and Chris Myers Children's Place are both transitional homes for homeless women and their children. Nancy K Perry Children's Shelter is a shelter for children who are suddenly removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. These partnerships would not be possible without your generosity. Each year we as a church give tens of thousands of dollars to these organizations to ensure that the children have opportunities to experience life outside of the shelter, that resources are available for programs to improve the lives of the residents, and that the lights stay on and there's food in the pantry.
I'd like to make you aware of an immediate service need at one of the homes.  Samaritans Well is in need of individuals, families, or  small groups to provide painting and replacement linens for the 6 bedrooms in the home. To serve or to learn more, stop by the table outside the auditorium for more information.
