Your monthly news & updates
Dear Residents -

I hope that you all have plans to get outside this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having. Looking to do something with the kids? Go out for a run or a bike ride on the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail or visit the Piermont's Farmers Market or local farms and pick up some apples or pumpkins - for pies, tarts, dipping, dunking and cider!!

Remember to Save the Date - Friday, October 30th - The Pearl River Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting their annual Trick or Treat. The participating downtown businesses donate the special treats and their time to make this event a fun-filled, safe alternative to house-to-house trick-or-treating. But, please remember, an adult should accompany children at all times. The event will be coordinated with the Orangetown Police Department to ensure safety for all.

And be sure to mark your calendar with some important dates:
  • Saturday, October 17: Town Clerk Rosanna Sfraga hosts shredding day 8:00am till 12:00pm
  • October 24 - November 1: Early Voting
  • Thursday, October 29th: Blood Drive in the new court room. Calendar to sign up will be available soon.

Respectfully,

Teresa M. Kenny

Pride in Bloom grows in
Rockland County
Because together, we are stronger! The seeds of awareness and acceptance are being sown in Rockland County for the LGBTQ+ community. PFLAG Rockland is proud to debut the Pride in Bloom Art Exhibit and Auction.

Fifty-nine talented local artists have created original floral artworks in support of PFLAG Rockland.

The artists have produced a dazzling virtual garden of artwork in an array of mediums ranging from fiber, ceramics, photography, paintings, and mixed media. The art exhibit and auction will run through October 25, 2020 with all proceeds going to PFLAG Rockland and the artists.

PFLAG Rockland is a non-profit organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. Through peer-to-peer support, education, and advocating for inclusive policies and laws, we keep Rockland County’s LGBTQ+ folks, families, and friends strong.

Make a difference today and support PFLAG Rockland!
Visit the virtual garden art exhibit to see all of the outstanding works and to place an auction bid.

Pet of the Week

Meet the Bravo Trio - Mr. Purry, age 17, Jay all of 3 and Stevie the kitten.

With this crew around, what a purr-fect excuse to not have to make the bed. And the snuggles - they don't get much better than these 3.

Interesting tidbits:

  • Mr. Purry forgets he eats (happens to the best of us!)
  • Jay never met a person he didn't like (just like his parents - There are no strangers here, only friends I haven't met!)
  • Stevie is the princess in the lot (like all baby's of the family)

Want to see your pet featured here? Send an email to Supervisor@Orangetown.com
