Friday, October 9 and Monday, October 12
Virtual Learning Days
All students, both face to face and distance learners, will be engaged in distance learning on October 9th and October 12. Teachers will not be meeting with students synchronously (live meetings), however work will be provided for your child to complete at home. October 9th and 12th are student learning days. Attendance will be determined by student work completion and participation in the activities provided by the teachers.
Students in grades K-2 will NOT be bringing technology home. They will have work that does not involve technology.
Students in grades 3-5 WILL be bringing technology home with them on Thursday, October 8 and should return on Tuesday, October 13. Students in grades 3-5 will bring technology home based on the preference you indicated during online registration. If that is the case, please review the KMSD Chromebook checkout /participation agreement as well as the link to our website to enter a technology help ticket if devices are sent home.
Learning Environment Change Request Period: October 19-23

The next opportunity to commit to a learning environment in KM schools will occur prior to the second quarter/term, which runs Nov. 9, 2020 through Jan. 22, 2021. A link to a change request form will be shared Oct. 19 and will be open through Oct. 23. Another opportunity to request a change in learning environment will occur in January, with the start of term 3.

If you plan to make a change, please consider the impact a potential quarantine might have on your family in the coming quarter/term and select the correct environment. Due to staffing needs and configurations:
  1. Changes at the elementary level will likely cause reassignment of your child’s teacher and class configuration, regardless of your family's decision. In addition, changes in either direction will not be honored after October 23.
  2. KM will not be able to honor changes at the middle and high school levels from distance learning to face-to-face learning after October 23.
  3. At the high school level, selecting distance learning may alter your student’s term 2 course selections.

NOTE: This change request form is only necessary if you want to change your environment for the second quarter/term, which begins Nov. 9.

MAGEE KINDNESS ROCKS

The Magee PTO has started a Kindness Rock Project. They will be creating and hiding rocks for families to hunt for. Look for them on Facebook at Magee Kindness Rocks. When families find them, there is a bin outside of the school office for students to bring them in. The rocks will be used to line the paths in the Butterfly Garden. What a great way to spread kindness and beautify our butterfly garden! Happy Hunting!
Thank you for your patience with our
new drop off and pick up routines.
Please drive SLOWLY anytime in parking lot,
