The toolkit contains, among other things, links to state-by-state fact sheets related to CHIP prepared by the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Kick Butts Day at the State Capitol

Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. The Frankfort event will be among more than 1,000 events in schools and communities across the United States and even around the world.
More than 150 youth from nine Kentucky counties will gather in the Capitol Rotunda from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for a postcard party and media event. 2018 Kentucky Telehealth Summit

Kentucky HEALTH 1115 Medicaid Waiver Stakeholder Advisory Forum

Stakeholder advisory forums hosted by the Kentucky HEALTH Project Team
provide an avenue for constructive feedback and solutions to help ensure a successful transition for Medicaid beneficiaries eligible for the new health and well-being program.
At these meetings, team members provide
updates on implementation activities, offer system demonstrations, engage citizens in system and process testing, discuss draft communications, answer questions about operationalizing specific policies, give notice of upcoming communications from the Commonwealth to beneficiaries, and address topics brought forth by forum participants.
The forums will include representatives from the healthcare and workforce development community, as well as frontline state employees. These public meetings will take place at 1:00 PM local time on the first Thursday of each month, and will alternate between being held in Frankfort and various locations around the state.

A preconference on Tuesday afternoon, April 10th, will be hosted by the Kentucky Department for Public Health's Kentucky Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Program.
This year's conference will feature expert speakers including professor Robert McMillen, PhD from Mississippi State University. See the

Drug-Free Communities Support Program Grants
The Office of National Drug Control Policy, in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is now accepting applications for the Drug-Free Communities Support Program for Fiscal Year 2018.
Anticipated total available funds: $15,000,000
Estimated number of awards: Approximately 120
Estimated award amount: Up to $125,000 per year for up to 5 years
Eligible applicants: Community-based coalitions addressing youth substance use that have never received a DFC grant.

Enhancement and Expansion of Treatment and Recovery Services for Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and their Families Grant Program
Purpose: enhance and expand comprehensive treatment, early intervention, and recovery support services for adolescents, transitional aged youth, and their families/primary caregivers with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders. Applicants will be expected to identify and reduce differences in access, service use, and outcomes of services among females and racial and ethnic minority populations to address health disparities.
The award amount is up to $541,350 per year, no cost-sharing match required and can be an up to 5 year project.
