CALL TO ACTION:
Ask Legislators to
Send  SB 2836 Back to Conference
New Language in the Medicaid Tech Bill
Could Hurt Patients and Providers

CALL NOW!
BOTH HOUSES CONVENE AT 10 AM TODAY!

MESSAGE : Send SB 2836, the Medicaid Tech Bill, back to conference.  Don't neglect our vulnerable citizens, or punish providers for being part of the Medicaid program.

Lines 940-957 in the bill provide that, when there is an anticipated deficit, the Governor and the Executive Director of Medicaid have the ability to REDUCE or DISCONTINUE any or all optional services, REDUCE reimbursement rates for any and all service types, IMPOSE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENTS on health care providers, or take any additional cost-containment measures deemed appropriate by the Governor.  We oppose this part of the bill. We ask that it be sent back to conference in order to remove this language.
