T he Illinois Family Institute opposes an extreme abortion bill that the Illinois state legislature is working hard to pas into law. In a recent website article, the IFA rightly compared the past slaughter of 6 million Jewish people in Nazi Germany to the current slaughter of 61 million unborn babies whose lives are being ended by abortion daily.  "Life unworthy of life," was the mindset of the Nazis toward the Jewish people and, according to the Nazis, they had no right to live.  A similar mindset obscures the thinking of progressive Leftists who rationalize unborn human slaughter! 

The lawmakers are now attempting to abuse the power of the government to quash Illinois Family Institute's work, speech and presence in Springfield! In an official joint resolution (HJR 55), anti-life lawmakers are calling for the Institute's right to lobby at the Capitol to be revoked, and for the Illinois State Police to investigate them for "hate speech." Additionally, because of the tremendously successful Pro-Life Lobby Day on March 20th, these same lawmakers are calling "for a review of security procedures in the Capitol Complex...with the review and implementation of needed updates..."

In Alabama, the pending pro-life bill, the Human Life Protection Act,  would prohibit abortions except for serious health risks to the mother and fatal fetal anomalies. It also would subject abortionists to felony charges, punishable by up to 10 years in prison for aborting an unborn baby. Mothers would not be punished. The sponsors of the bill, Rep Collins and Sen Albritton  compare the killing of unborn babies in abortions to the Holocaust in Germany, Joseph Stalin's Soviet gulags, the Rwandan genocide and other massive human rights abuses. The ADL's Jake Hyman told CBS News that comparing abortions to the Holocaust is "deeply offensive." He said his organization wrote to the Alabama House Health Committee urging it to oppose the bill.  "It belittles the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others who were murdered at the hands of the Nazis and misappropriates a profoundly tragic historical event for political purposes."
