Look at all that's happened...

• The Guild became an affiliate of North Star Community Foundation, giving our organization non-profit status, fiscal agency, and valuable professional advice. 
   
• Forty members of the Fairbanks community (and beyond!) supported the Guild's work with their memberships and other monetary and in-kind donations. 
   
• We moved into our first physical home for office and studio, in rented space at The Folk School. Our move expanded our already strong partnership, joyfully celebrated at a joint Folk School and Northwoods Book Arts Guild Open House in May.
   
• Approximately 120 bookmaking enthusiasts attended the Guild's regular bi-monthly program meetings, which introduced them to new techniques, tools, and information about the book arts. These meetings now include an optional Book Exchange program. Everyone is welcome! 
   
• The Guild sponsored 13 workshops in 2015, spreading knowledge about bookmaking, and growing our community of book artists. These workshops take place at The Folk School.
   
• We established a Scholarship Fund to assist students in taking Guild-sponsored workshops.
   
• We began our Open Book sessions in which we gather informally to share our book art projects.

• Charlotte Bird and Fran Watson launched our Letterpress Project with their generous donation of a Kelsey Letterpress. This press is known as the Bird Press. Sixteen members of the community have supported the Letterpress Campaign, generously donating more than $2000. 
   
• Thanks to Bruce Campbell, the Bird Press serendipitously found a companion Kelsey Press, called the Wood Press, so that we now have access to two very similar letterpresses. Great for classes and other collaborative endeavors!
   
• The Letterpress Project created a sequence of workshops to train members to use the letterpresses, and began holding Open Press sessions to parallel Open Book.
   
• The Guild's website continued to expand, inform, and archive our many activities.
   
• The Guild participated in its 2nd annual Celebration of Handmade Books at If Only...a fine store with display, sales, and demonstrations of bookmaking techniques. 
   
• We continued our outreach work of repairing books for the Alaska Literacy Council.
   
• Guild members continued to provide displays that highlight the book arts at UAF's Rasmuson Library.
   
• The Guild co-sponsored Our Boreal Forest, a community-wide exhibition in the Bear Gallery.
