8th Grade Eagles in Action for April
Donate Shoes
We accept all types of footwear including:
GYM SHOES
SANDALS
BOOTS
ALL SIZES
MEN’S
WOMEN’S
CHILDREN’S
ANY KIND
ANY BRANDS
GENTLY WORN
The shoes are going to people who may have never even owned a pair. It’s important that these shoes are in  good  condition to respect the dignity of those receiving them. Shoes older than five years old decompose, even if they were never worn.
So please: be respectful with your donations, understand that our goal is to provide good, clean shoes to those in need. For example, tennis shoes should include laces and not have holes. We  discard  any old overly worn shoes!
Over 3 million pairs of shoes delivered in 19 years.
No Boundaries. No Borders.
Boxes are located near the Narthex
and School Office.

Announcements
After School Study Club

Beginning in April, the fourth quarter, St. John’s is going to institute an After School Study Club on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays until 4:00 . The purpose is to give children the opportunity to catch up on any missing homework, get help with concepts taught in class, and to make up quizzes/tests from absences. Mrs. Kunz will host Mondays in her classroom, Mrs. Hull will host Tuesdays in her classroom, and Mrs. Starr will host Wednesdays in her classroom. We look forward to seeing students who need this extra time.
So Kids, Sew!
St. John’s sewing club is for students in grades 6-8. We meet Mondays from 3:30 – 4:30. We hope you will join us!
Our next session starts Monday, Apr. 9 and continues for 2 more weeks: Apr. 16, and 30th. We have 3 quilts we hope to finish before the end of the school year. Please see Mrs. Starr for permission slips.

Plant Sale
The annual St. John's plant sale will be
Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12.
Orders are due Monday, April 23.
We will be placing TRIP orders for your shopping needs on these upcoming dates:
  • April 3rd (Tues), 16th and 30th
  • May 7th and 21st
Have your order in the green order boxes, in either the school office or church narthex by the Sunday prior to the order date to participate.

PTO News
PIZZA FRIDAYS
Order forms are available outside the school office; on the SJL website at stjohnslagrange.org→Parents→Forms; or by clicking the link found in this issue of The Wings.
As a reminder: Pizza should be pre-ordered to guarantee that your student receives his/her preferred type and quantity of pizza. Pizza orders are due by 9:00 am on Wednesday for Friday’s lunch. There are usually extra slices of pizza available for sale on Fridays at lunch. However, students with pre-orders are served first and there is no guarantee that there will be leftover pizza to sell.
Pizza Fridays are a fundraiser to help cover the costs for the 7 th & 8 th grade classes’ trip to Washington, D.C. in May. Thank you for your support!
