Ingham Impact Podcast - The Reverse Job Fair
What is a reverse job fair? It is the opposite of a traditional job fair, allowing the students to be the focal point showcasing their skills, talents, work samples and certifications. Instead of job seekers going to employer booths, the employers browse students' tables for potential employees. Employers might be looking for talent to fill their open positions for apprenticeships, part-time or full-time employment. The second annual

Cross-District Literacy Team Formed
Representatives from districts throughout the Ingham ISD service area have formed a literacy team, called the Mid-Michigan Literacy Impact Network. Based on the research and philosophy of the Reading Now Network, the group's charge is to assess literacy efforts and take collective steps to improve student outcomes. The first step is to review elementary literacy data and identify potential reasons for the results as they dig deeper to improve literacy outcomes. Participants including superintendents, curriculum directors, special education directors and early childhood leadership. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

School Bus Security Grant
Ingham ISD received grant dollars to pilot a new program as a training agency for bus drivers. Drivers will be trained on how to respond if an intruder gets on their bus or a student becomes a threat. The program is already in place at West Shore ESD, and they will provide training to drivers in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties before the start of the new school year. There is nothing more important than student and staff safety.

Districts Recognized for Positive Impact
This month, MIBLSI in partnership with MDE, highlighted a few Ingham ISD service area districts for demonstrating strong outcomes and/or making progress related to meeting the need of each and every student through a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. These districts are being recognized for their efforts:
- Dwight Rich School of the Arts: Behavior Bronze
- Winans Elementary School: Behavior Bronze
- East Intermediate School: Behavior Silver
- Waverly Middle School: Behavior Silver
- Waverly Senior High School: Behavior Gold
In addition, Ingham ISD was also recognized for providing the support infrastructure to support implementation of MTSS. Find out more by reading the
