Final General Membership PTA Meeting of 
2017-2018 School Year.

April 19, 2018

Discovery School Gym

PTA will present our final report of the school and our financials. Additionally, the General Membership will vote on and install the new 2018-2019 Executive Board and welcome our new President, Ayat Abu Halimah. Immediately following our meeting the 4th graders will perform a recorder concert. We look forward to seeing you all there.

The PTA Nominating Committee has considered the nominees for officers for the Discovery School PTA 2018-2019 and has agreed to the following slate of candidates:

PTA members will vote on these candidates during the PTA meeting on April 19th at 5:30pm

When turning in your Box Tops, make sure that you put your teacher's name on the bag or envelope so your class will get credit toward the monthly prize!

Career Day
Career Week is the week of May 14th, please be watching for more details from your Teacher. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade will experience "Careers on Wheels" with a focus on careers that use special equipment out on the road. This will be an outside activity. Our 2nd through 4th grades will focus on Careers in Special Area...Art, Science, Literacy, Music, Health and Human Performance. Our 5th and 6th grade students will be experiencing JABiztown again this year thanks to the generosity of the Explorer Fund. If you would like to be involved with Career Week, please contact Mrs. Baltimore.


 
Student Council will be collecting bulbs to plant in the Explorer Garden as part of their contribution toward campus beautification. If you have bulbs you would like to donate, please send them in a paper bag to Mrs. Baltimore.



 

 
It's not to late to sign up to be a Watchdogs this year. Call Grandpa or Uncle Joe and ask them if they would like to volunteer some of their time, impact student lives, and get a unique perspective on school-life. Thank you for connecting with our students at DS! We are grateful for all of our volunteers.
