Greetings!

Finally, we've arrived at the month where Spring officially "checks in." On that subject, if you are itching to get out in the garden but don't want to plant one of your own, the Township Pollinator/Learning Garden is in need of volunteers. See the article below for details.

Residents; the Parks Survey should arrive in your mailboxes in March. Ten minutes of your time can make ten years worth of difference in your community. Please watch for the survey, fill it out and return it when it comes. Thank you.

Trustee meetings are typically held the second and fourth Monday of every month (refer to the Calendar page on the website for changes to this schedule.) They're open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. It's a great way to stay on top of community happenings and even meet your neighbors.

Sincerely,
Rod Myers, Bill Holtry and Mike Dattilo, Township Trustees

JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING CLEAN UP... You'll want to know about this

If you've ever tried to dispose of certain hazardous waste materials, such as tires, electronics or paints, you know how hard and how expensive it can be.

Did you know that there's an organization in our area designed for residents to help with this process?

The Delaware, Knox, Marion, Morrow (DKMM) Joint Solid Waste District is a legal political subdivision of the State of Ohio. It is charged with implementing the District's Solid Waste Management Plan.

DKMM funds programs that provide education and it also hosts HAZARDOUS WASTE RECYCLE EVENTS in our four county region. If you have tires, electronics, household hazardous waste, paint or other difficult to recycle items, heads up!
There will be four special recycle events held in our area in 2018. The link to a 2-page flyer for these events is below. Please print off and save for your reference.

The first event will be held Sat. April 28th.

PLEASE READ THE FLYER COMPLETELY. NOT ALL ITEMS ACCEPTED AT ALL EVENTS. CERTAIN FEES APPLY - SEE DETAILS

Please call the DKMM District office at (740) 393-4600 with any other questions that you may have

Tree and Shrub Seedling Sale Going on Now
Orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so don't delay
The annual Delaware Soil & Water Conservation District Seedling Sale is a good way to get quality seedlings at a great price. Choose from a variety of conifers (packed in bundles of 10) and hardwoods (packed in bundles of 5). These bare root seedlings are shipped without soil making them light weight and easy to carry. All seedlings are state and federally inspected. Reasonable substitutions may be necessary based on availability from the nursery.
AG SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE
The Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District offers a $500 college scholarship to eligible students in Delaware County who are pursuing a degree in Agriculture.

The Dick O'Keefe Memorial Scholarship was created in 1998 and honors the legacy of a lifelong Delaware County resident and farmer.
