Wondering what happened to January? The new year starts off with a bang of big plans, but... Before we know it, well-laid plans for the new year are pushed to the bottom of the to-do lists, sometimes forgotten altogether.

Getting out your message about local programs and plans may be one of the things that falls off the list. We know that communicating regularly makes a difference, but there just isn't enough time to plan events or research, write, and produce quality publications.

Let us help! This month, we are sharing a great idea for an event held last month by the Southeastern Indiana Recycling District for their local media. Get the details below. And if you need help with your publications, call on us. For more than 25 years, we've been helping our clients make communication a priority with a minimal amount of staff time. We do all the heavy lifting--you get all the credit! If you want to know more about how we can help, call or email me.

Keep on spreading the news!

Aaron Bell, Executive Director of SEIRD, explains the importance of contaminant-free paper bales.
You have great programs in place for solid waste management and recycling, so how best to inform your community about using them and using them properly? Hopefully, you are sending regular communication through a newsletter, like One Person's Trash and Trash Talk!, but what else can you do?

Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) in Madison, Indiana hosts an annual Media Night. The most recent one helped promote their continuing focus on "recycling right."

"Media Night was born of the idea that we are grateful for what the local print, radio, television, and digital news do to highlight our cause and efforts," said Mandy Creech, Public Outreach Coordinator for SEIRD. "We wanted to say 'thank you' with food, good cheer, and relevant conversations regarding recycling."
