TBH Toolkits Programs Shown to Improve
Brain Health Knowledge and Self-Efficacy

Press Release

Montclair, NJ (Monday, May 21st, 2018). Results from a pilot study looking at the impact of TBH Toolkit programs  by Total Brain Health for brain wellness and memory improvement were presented at the 2018 Cognitive Aging Conference, held May 3rd-6th in Atlanta, GA.

Results showed that participation in TBH Toolkit courses significantly improved brain health knowledge and memory self-efficacy, a critical indicator for improved participation in personal health and wellness outcomes.

The research data was collected from approximately 70 participants taking the TBH BRAIN WORKOUT 1.0 and MEMORY 1.0 Toolkit courses at TBH Community Partner Galloway Ridge at Fearrington, a Life Plan Community in Pittsboro, NC.  Dr. Ian McDonough of the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, presented the findings at the national conference.

TBH Toolkits are s tate-of-the-science courses developed by cognitive improvement expert, Cynthia R. Green Ph.D. They are currently in use at over 120 communities nation-wide. The toolkits use Social-Based Brain Training (SBBT) protocols that harness the benefits of collective training, proven to boost brain health and memory performance above individual-based training methods.

Dr. McDonough also serves as the Principal Investigator of a current large-scale study looking at brain health training using the TBH Toolkit programs in conjunction with Acts Gerontological Research Institute (AGRI), the research division of Acts Retirement-Life Communities.
