Taste of Arlington Tickets Now Available

Alright, Ballston, get ready to Eat. Drink. Give. Tickets for Northern Virginia's biggest block party, Taste of Arlington, are now on sale! 

If you're not familiar with Taste of Arlington, let us catch you up. Taste of Arlington is the region's biggest and best charitable, family-friendly, dog-friendly, craft beer, wine and music festival right here in Ballston. 

We're spreading the love this year by incorporating more Arlington charities and non-profits through BallstonGives. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Arlington Food Assistance Center, Animal Welfare League of Arlington,   Arlington Chamber of CommerceArlington Arts Center, Leadership Center for Excellence and Volunteer Arlington. Come out to show your support your favorite Arlington organizations!

We're going back to our roots this year with free admission for the festival. That said, tasting tickets let you take advantage of all the best food, beer and wine Arlington has to offer. Get your tickets before May 1st to lock in early bird prices  and the opportunity to skip the will-call line by choosing the "Ship My Tickets" option!

We'll see you May 20th, from noon to 6pm!

Farmers Market Returning to Ballston on April 5th

Spring has (nearly) sprung, which can only mean one thing: farmers market season!

Our Ballston Farmers Market makes its triumphant return on Thursday, April 5th, and will run every Thursday, from April to November - with the Mega Markets starting in May. All your favorite vendors will be returning, with a couple newbies added to the mix! 

You'll find everything from baked goods to pasta to fresh and local produce just a few steps from your office. Look for our tents from 3 to 7pm at Welburn Square across from the Ballston Metro station between N. Taylor and N. Stuart streets. 



Washington Radiology Expanding to Ballston

Washington Radiology has opened a new screening mammography center in Ballston. The new Ballston center, located at 1005 North Glebe Road in Suite 110, offers traditional 2-D and 3-D mammography and bone density studies . The center's hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
 
Washington Radiology is committed to providing women with an exceptional mammography experience, supported by dedicated team members who are sub-specialists in the area of breast screening. Their patient-centric approach considers all aspects of the patient's visit seeking to make the experience such an easy one that women won't avoid getting the annual mammogram they need.
 
Extra conveniences include online appointment requests, convenient parking, and free Wi-Fi. Understanding that environment is often a big part of the experience, the new Ballston center offers a warm and welcoming space with a distinctly non-clinical feel through warm colors, soft music, and a peaceful home-like environment.

The local CACI Ballston Toastmasters Club is hosting an open house on Wednesday, March 21st, from 5:30-6:45 pm.  You can attend to learn more about how you can get involved!

The Arlington Chamber's  Sustainability Committee  is hosting a panel discussion focused on "Creating a Culture of Sustainability" through the business lens on March 22 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Our panel will focus on what a culture of sustainability entails, why it is important to cultivate such a culture in an office environment, and how an organization can successfully implement this initiative through design, programs and practices! 

Sustainability in the workforce is more than just being environmentally-friendly, it encompasses a holistic approach that empowers your workforce to thrive and engage with their workplace, fellow employees and community as a whole. Bringing together perspectives from business, government and academia, the Sustainability Committee and the Arlington Chamber are offering a well-rounded introduction into creating a culture of sustainability!

Guests will enjoy light hors d'oeuvres by Eco Caterers and beverages sponsored by the Ballston BID.

Calling All Artists and Creatives

Join us as we support the next phase of the Arlington Artspace project at the Arts Market Survey Launch Event and Reception on March 22nd from 6 - 8 PM at Arlington Arts Center.
Arlington Cultural Affairs is collaborating with Artspace, the highly respected national arts-based non-profit based in Minneapolis, MN, to create live-work spaces for artists in Arlington. The Arts Market Survey, available on March 22nd, encourages artists within a 50-mile radius of Arlington to identify their current and future needs in a live/work space and express their level of    interest in being a live/work resident.

The event will feature a presentation on the Arlington Artspace project along with remarks by Virginia Commission for the Arts Executive Director Margaret Vanderhye followed by a Q&A session and a reception where you can mingle with potential creative neighbors and take the survey on the spot!
