LHS Boys' Track & Field
James Rainey had a great weekend setting two new school records. On Friday, he set a new mark of 160'5" in the Discus by breaking Jelani Rainey's record of 155'0". He then raised his own record in the Shot Put to 52'11" at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays on Saturday.

Jake Chamberlin competed in two events on Friday, running the 3rd leg on the 4x100m Relay (42.55) and the 4x200m Relay (1:28.84) then ran his best 200m time of the season (21.90), qualifying for the finals and finishing 6th overall.

One of our most exciting races from this weekend was the varsity 1600m at the Russ Schuler Invitational. Whitson Bedell, Ryan Brands, and Brett Pedersen ran away from the competition from the start of the race and remained stride for stride with each other until the final 100m. Brett (4:38.65) finished just ahead of Ryan (4:39.28) and Whitson (4:40.41). It was really impressive to see them work together to stretch the lead and then compete against each other for the victory on the final lap.
