The Department of Water Management (DWM) and NPL Construction Company

crews has begun the work to install 1,265 feet of new 12‐inch water main in

W. Diversey Parkway, from N. Halsted Street to N. Clark Street. The old water main dates back to 1890 and needs to be replaced. We expect the water main work to be completed by early May 2018. In addition, following the completion of the water main work, a new sewer main will be installed in W. Diversey Parkway, from N. Halsted Street to N. Burling Street. Final restoration will follow the completion of the sewer main installation. Dates may change depending on weather and other factors.

WATER SHUT OFF-CHECK LIST FOR WATER BOIL

During the Diversey water main project, there may be times where the Water Department will have to shut off your water. Sometimes the water will be a complete shut off and you will not be able to be open during this period of time. IF a water boil is in place, you can stay open IF you fill out the BOIL ORDER CHECK LIST and submit the plan of operations to the Health Department. The Health Department will inspect your business, so don't take any chances of not following the plan you set forth.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be dust at times and you may want to operate your outdoor cafes during times when construction workers are not present.
