Thanks to everyone who was able to join ILF at the Statehouse on February 20. It was a great opportunity to get face to face with our legislators, experience the beauty and history of our Indiana Statehouse, and to show off the nifty tools in use in libraries to build STEM skills and foster engagement.

We are pleased to announce the content at regional conferences.
Dr. Godwin Charles Ogbeide
will offer the keynote on
Exercising your Hospitality Intelligence
at four regional conferences.
Dr. Vanessa Allen-McCloud
will offer a keynote on
Implicit Bias and the Welcoming Library
at the Northwest Regional Conference. All five regional conferences will feature
hands-on skills training in computer labs
and
conversation among public library directors
. Other sessions vary by region.
With the exception of the directors' session, all sessions are designed for and open to ALL staff of all types of libraries.

Update and plans on the ILF School Library Census Survey
We are in the final stretch of data collection phase of the
School Library Census
. Thank you to members and volunteers who completed over 275 responses. We still need a few more.
Please take a look at
the updated list
. Even if you do not know anyone from a highlighted school district, please consider helping complete the survey.
The map at the right illustrates the many areas of the state with wonderful volunteers with completed surveys-"V is for volunteer." Only 87 of 290 school districts remain unsurveyed. We also welcome information about charter and parochial schools.

YHBA Training
On Saturday, March 10 approximately 60 school and public librarians met at the Shamrock Springs Elementary School in Westfield to begin the
Young Hoosier Book Award
process for the 2018-2019 school year. Each of these amazing volunteers will read 60 to 80 books over the summer and will meet again in September to choose the YHBA nominees that will be announced during the 2018 ILF Annual Conference. Thank you to all these awesome volunteers for their hard work and dedication.
