African American Newspapers
Series 2

October is Archives Month, so we are pleased to announce expanded access to African American Newspapers - Series 2 databases. Search digitized materials from 1835 to 1956 chronicling life from the Antebellum South through the early years of the Civil Rights Movement.

Storytimes and Crafts Online

Enjoy library programs at home! From Storytimes to STEM projects and upcycled crafts, you can find learning opportunities for kids online. Watch on Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms.
Some activities are on social media, but you do not need an account to join the fun!

Census Count Continues

The deadline to complete the 2020 Census is extended to October 31, 2020. Go online to 2020census.gov or call 1-844-330-2020. It is easy, confidential, and important. When everyone is counted, communities get representation and funding for health care, education, and more. Everyone counts!

Healing Library

The pandemic has created a confusing time for all of us, especially children. The Healing Library provides resources to support your family. Visit the COVID Reading Room to start your healing journey. Children and parents can easily read books online or watch read-aloud videos.

All Live Oak Public Libraries locations will be closed on Monday, October 12 for Staff Training; Islands Library and Southwest Chatham Library will remain open that day for Early Voting.
