If you're looking for different post-secondary education options, check out these programs:

  • PASSAGE USA is a post-secondary educational (PSE) experience for students with ID that helps each student achieve his/her goals.  This two-year certificate program is based on individualized Adult Education Plans developed through person-centered planning.
  • The "EAGLES"- Auburn University Education to Accomplish Growth in Life Experiences for Success program - is a post-secondary program for students with intellectual disabilities. EAGLES provides an opportunity for students with intellectual disabilities to engage in a multi-year campus residential experience (e.g., two-year basic program, four-year advanced program for eligible participants). The program's focus areas are to: (1) increase independence, (2) improve leadership and advocacy skills, (3) prepare for employment, and (4) develop life skills (e.g., social, self-determination/awareness).
  • Crossing Points is a two-tier post-secondary transition program on the campus of The University of Alabama. Crossing Points Tier 1 is a collaboration between The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa City Schools, and Tuscaloosa County School System. Tier 1 serves students with significant disabilities ages 18-21 years who are still receiving IDEA services. Tier 1 follows the Tuscaloosa City Schools and Tuscaloosa County school systems' Academic year calendar. Crossing Points Tier 2, also known as the Summer Bridge Program, is a post-secondary pipeline program for college-age students with intellectual disabilities ages 18+ years from anywhere in the State of Alabama and beyond.
  • On to JSU students will experience an individualized, person-centered program based on their individual interests and specific needs. Each student will participate in courses with traditional university students in order to build both social and academic skills. Students will work towards a certification in either Business Basics or Food Service through coursework and internship opportunities beginning as early as their second semester in the program. Certificate options for each On To JSU participant will be planned from existing JSU curriculum using a person- centered approach.
