Brian Carlstrom chosen as Superintendent

of Cape Cod National Seashore

National Park Service Northeast Regional Director Gay Vietzke has named Brian Carlstrom as the new superintendent of Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts. Carlstrom currently serves as Deputy Associate Director for the Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate in Washington, D.C., where he develops and implements resource stewardship and science policies and direction Service-wide. Carlstrom will begin his new assignment in April. He replaces George Price, who retired in May last year. Read more here.

A Recipe for Success: Community is key for Guapo's

Before Kyle Parker and his wife, Danna, opened Guapo's Tortilla Shack, they turned to their community. It's a community of friends, neighbors, and customers, as well as a community of mentors collected across the country over many years. The couple opened the first Guapo's, a popular Mexican eatery with a Baja-style, surfer-shack vibe, in Brewster in 2005. A second, larger location soon followed in Orleans. It was a business venture that was a long time coming. Kyle's career as a successful restaurateur began years ago while he was still a student at Nauset Regional High School. Cape Housing Advocacy Training set to kick off in February

Next month, Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) and Community Development Partnership (CDP) will launch the Cape Housing Advocacy Training, a collaborative effort between the two nonprofits to provide people throughout the region with the tools to support affordable housing in their communities. The Cape Cod Synagogue announces the launch of a new modernized website located at https://capecodsynagogue.org. The secure website is restructured to assist the Jewish community and greater Cape Cod community with communication and knowledge about the Synagogue and its members; and help easily identify opportunities for membership, programs, and community gatherings that take place throughout the year.
