Distance Learning Week Schedules: November 9-13

As a reminder, please review the Distance Learning Week schedules for each grade level. The attachment is a single spreadsheet with three tabs along the bottom: for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Note that these are "live" documents and will be updated as schedules adjust. Therefore, we encourage you to check your children's Distance Learning Week schedules daily for any changes.

Please note that most of the classes do not have Zoom links embedded, with the exception of school-wide programs. The class- or grade-specific Zoom links will be made available to parents via Seesaw for grades K-2. For grades 3-8, your child should receive Zoom invites via Google calendar invites from their teachers so that the appointments appear on their personal Google calendars.

IMPORTANT! Upcoming Calendar Changes

We have made a few changes to the Heilicher school schedule between now and the end of the 2020 calendar year.

First, there will be NO SCHOOL the full week of Thanksgiving. Monday and Tuesday, November 23 and 24, had previously been scheduled as in-school learning days.

Second, the week of December 7-11 will now be an in-person learning week. That week had previously been designated for all-school distance learning.

We have made these updates on the school calendar, as well. Thank you for your flexibility.
Your Ambassadorship is Needed!

Heilicher is now accepting applications K-8 for fall 2021. Our $0 application fee special runs through November 27. Please help us spread the word or contact Louise Schoenberger with specific questions or leads.
Grandparent Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, November 20

Calling all Heilicher grandparents! Please join us for a special, all-school, online Grandparent Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, November 20, at 11:10 a.m.

The Zoom link to participate is here:

We look forward to debuting a special, grandparent-focused video showcasing daily life at Heilicher during this unusual year, and offering a special blessing to our beloved grandparents.

We will be sending an email directly to all grandparents who are on our email list. However, please feel free to share this information with them, as well. If you'd like to add grandparents to our mail/email lists, so they can hear about these special programs in the future, please email their contact information to Beckie Skelton
Recommendations from the Heilicher Health and Safety Committee

The Heilicher Health and Safety Committee recommends that all students, families, teachers and staff get the flu vaccine.

Covid-19 is not the same as Influenza. Symptoms are similar but there is a way to prevent and treat influenza. Get vaccinated, wash your hands, wear a mask and social distance. Flu is treatable with antiviral medications.

As we near the Thanksgiving holiday, please review the CDC recommendations on holiday safety.
Important Reminders

Daily Home Wellness Checks are REQUIRED. It is critical that all families fill out the Home Wellness Check for each of their children in Sycamore before coming to school each day. This check asks about many possible symptoms of COVID-19, including but not limited to fever. To ensure the health and safety of our community, we need 100% participation in completing this form reliably each morning.

Please use [email protected] to report all illnesses,
absences, late arrivals, and other student-related updates.
Give to the Max!

The Heilicher Annual Fund is going strong! Our goal is for the Annual Fund to raise over $400,000 this year with 100% parent participation. To date, we have raised almost $382,000 from 87 generous parent, grandparent, alumni parent, and community donors.

There are many ways to make your pledge or gift. You may give online through the Heilicher websiteor mail in a response to the letter you have recently received. We offer options for incremental payment as well as periodic invoicing; we strive to make giving to Heilicher easy for you.

You can also opt to make your donation through GiveMN.org anytime between now and Thursday, November 19, and Heilicher may qualify for incentives for any donations made.

NEW! Community supporters Mort and Merle Kane have offered a 1:1 match, up to $10,000, on all online donations made between November 1-19. Donations made on the Heilicher website or the GiveMN site both count toward this generous match!

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support! Any questions, or would you like to discuss your gift confidentially? Please contact Institutional Advancement Director, Beckie Skelton, at [email protected]  or 612.419.3290.
