It’s been said the most important part of communicating is listening, and as your state agency, CDA is continuing to listen to you in many different ways. We had a great discussion during the recent Colorado Proud Southern Colorado Ag Resiliency Roundtable, and another larger symposium is in the works for later this year. We listen every day to our stakeholders and partners in the field and the important insights you provide us about your challenges and hopes.

We want to hear your experiences about how the statewide drought is affecting you. The activation of the Colorado Drought Mitigation and Response plan includes documenting first-hand accounts of the drought’s impact on farms and ranches. Please share your stories with us. Photos, videos, stories or recommendations from agriculture producers and communities are encouraged.

We also want to hear your thoughts of Colorado’s Greenhouse Gas Roadmap. You’re invited to join in a conversation via Zoom (registration info coming soon) about the Roadmap on October 20th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. State staff will provide an overview of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Roadmap and state climate equity efforts with time dedicated to listening to your questions and feedback on this critical issue.

It’s vital for the voices in our rural and ag communities to be heard. Get involved, and let us know what’s important to you. And speaking of support, remember Colorado Crisis Services is here 24/7/365 to listen to you too. Call 1-844-493-8255 or text TALK to 38255.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the issues that impact you, and as always, thank you for supporting Colorado agriculture.

Sincerely,

Kate Greenberg
Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture
