Plano Chamber Public Policy Newsletter
CHAMBER
During April, the Plano Chamber worked with its more than 200 members in the Oak Point area to advocate in support of the strategic planning document, Envision Oak Point , which is being proposed by the City of Plano. As called for our in our Local Priorities, Smart Development is a key policy priority for the Plano Chamber and its members.

With the backing of those area members, the Public Policy Committee, and Board of Directors, the Chamber supported this vital plan for East Plano. Projections show strong economic benefits for the plan, including doubling the number of jobs in the area and creating a $5.6 billion economic impact at the culmination of this 20-30 vision. The entire plan and FAQs can be viewed HERE .

The Envision Oak Point plan was unanimously passed by Planning & Zoning in the beginning of April. The current Plan has been tabled for City Council consideration due to a lack of support.

The Plano Chamber looks forward to continuing to support the Envision Oak Point plan and will provide information to our members as it moves forward, including the votes of City Council Members when considered.
