OSCC prepares for 2018 Legislative Session

As OSCC prepares for the 2018 Session, here are a few things to be aware of.

Key dates for 2018 Session - 2018 is a very fast-moving session with quick deadlines. View important dates and timelines

Cleaner Air Oregon - We can't stress enough how important it is for your chamber, and your members, to provide comment to DEQ on the new 'Cleaner Air Oregon' regulations. In almost 20 years of advocacy, we haven't seen regulations that threaten business operations to the extent that these do. Learn how you and your members can get involved

Measure 101 - We have had several inquiries from OSCC members who have been contacted by proponents/opponents for Measure 101. Chambers need to understand the tension surrounding this issue as individual chamber members will likely have strong feelings on both sides of the debate. Read more
Janitorial service company regulations receive 90-day delay

HB 3279 creates a licensing process for janitorial companies to better ensure safe and fair workplaces for vulnerable workers in the industry. BOLI will emphasize employer assistance and compliance in the initial 90-day period the law becomes effective and forego all proactive enforcement. Learn more
Learn how to build your best team ever

Mark your calendars for May 16, 2018 for an intensive leadership training summit for Chamber Board Members and CEOs. Dave Kilby, president/CEO of the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE), will present a one-day intensive and interactive leadership training focused on providing strategies to building an effective and dynamic leadership team at the chamber. OregonSaves is now open to any employer in Oregon

Due to the success of the pilot phase of the program, the OregonSaves retirement program is now open to any employer of any size with employees in Oregon. The deadlines for employers to register remain the same, but employers do not need to wait for them to join the program and start facilitating savings for their employees.
 
Later this month, OregonSaves will begin sending notices to employers with instructions about how to join early. If any employers you work with are interested in joining early, they can contact our client services team at (844) 661-1256.
