WorldCongressNext Generation Integrated Mobility Driving ITS World Congress 2017

We are excited to be a leading sponsor and exhibitor at the ITS World Congress 2017 in Montréal, October 29 to November 2, 2017 at the Palais des congres de Montréal's Viger Hall. Produced by ITS America in conjunction with ITS Canada and co-organized by ITS Europe and ITS Asia-Pacific, the World Congress includes cutting-edge keynotes and educational programming, an Expo Floor, technical tours, and:
  • B2B One on Ones - a special session designed to link businesses together where smaller companies have been unable to connect with the right people within larger corporations. Up to 40 large corporations from all four regions (Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East) wanting to participate will volunteer to listen to up to eight company pitches.
  • Procurement Day - where registered attendees can hear first-hand about procurement opportunities from 46 participating government agencies around the world including the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Each agency will present details about future procurements, allowing private sector companies to gain valuable insight on where business opportunities exist within the countries, states, regions or cities.
  • Smart Cities Pavilion - highlighting Montréal (Quebec), Columbus (Ohio), Christchurch (New Zealand), Copenhagen (Denmark), and Singapore - this dynamic and interactive area will showcase next-generation integrated mobility solutions and the latest innovations in traffic management, roadways, rail, parking, bike share, car share, transit, traveler information, connected and autonomous vehicles.
We hope to see you at our booth, too! Our iCITE® Data Aggregator DA-300® will be featured in booth 1701 along with other advanced traffic data aggregation, vehicle detection and intersection safety monitoring solutions. BillDr. Bill Sowell Brings "Big Data for Mobility" to South America

The use of "Big Data" in infrastructure and transportation, intelligent cities and ITS technology integration was the focus of a presentation recently delivered by Dr. Bill Sowell, Eberle Design Inc. Vice President - Business Development, at two international conferences - organized by the Argentine Road Association in Buenos Aires, Argentina and by the Civil Engineering Specialty Council and Public Infrastructure Commission in Santiago, Chile. Big data is one of the key tools for cities to meet the challenges of managing and planning mobility.

Attend ees at Dr. Sowell's presentations included members from the roads, traffic and mobility areas of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and President of the Public Infrastructure Committee of the Universidad San Sebastian in Santiago, Chile.

In his presentation, Dr. Sowell noted, "As the world's population increases rapidly, it has a greater impact on the environment and generates a great demand for vital services infrastructure such as transport, energy, health and education, and public safety and roads."

Traffic data collection itself will not be able to improve traffic management in real time. "The interpretation and management of the same data is what represents the challenge. We have mountains of data, but unless we can convert it to practical information, it does not add value," Dr. Sowell said.

ultraReno A&E  Introduces a New UltraLoop™ Series of  Prefabricated Loops for Access Control Applications - The UltraLite Series

Reno A&E (RAE) is pleased to introduce the UltraLite (PLA) Series of Prefabricated Saw-Cut Loops for access control applications. RAE has manufactured prefabricated loops for the access, traffic and railway control industries for more than 20 years.

The UltraLite Series loops are extremely flexible even in cold temperature environments and are designed with Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The loops can be installed in 1/8 inch wide (0.32 cm) saw cuts or larger and eliminate the need to cut 45-degree relief corners which provides a longer life cycle of the roadway surface. This series of loops also incorporate a tinned 20 AWG, 4-conductor, stranded copper wire for corrosion resistance.

The UltraLite Series of Prefabricated Saw-Cut Loops is the newest addition to RAE's product suite of prefabricated loops for saw-cut and direct burial applications. The UltraEasy (PLB) Series, a saw-cut and direct burial type, is designed for concrete, paver applications or asphalt applications with a sand or dirt barrier. The UltraStrong (PLH) Series, a direct burial type, is designed for cement or hot asphalt roadway applications. The UltraRugged (PLH-R) Series, a direct burial type, is designed for gravel, dirt, mud, cement, etc.
