We are so glad spring is here! We have many special dates coming up, so please take note. Thank you to PAT families that completed our yearly parent surveys. Your comments are so important as we continue to plan for high quality early learning in Maize. We value our amazing families.

Many fun things coming up at ECC! Please mark these days on your calender!

April 19 - Field Trip to Botanica for Pre-K AM classes of Ms. CoCo, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Tammy and Ms. Alisa's. Full day: 8:10 am-3:35 pm. NO PM CLASSES; Ms. Melissa, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Becky and Ms. Angie normal class schedule for 3 year olds (8:10-11:25 am)

April 20-Field Trip to Botanica for Pre-K PM classes-all 4 year old classrooms (no AM classes)

May 1- End of the Year Celebration from 6-7:30pm for all ECC families

May 9  - Pre-K Music Program in the Gym

Starlets
Enrollment for 2018-19 Starlets classes is now available! Starlets is a parent/child Pre-K class that occurs once a week. Cost is only $35 for the whole year.

Week of the Young Child
The Week of the Young Child is an
annual celebration hosted by National Association for the Education of Young Children and will be April 16-19. 
We will be celebrating by having fun theme days!
Monday, April 16 - Super Hero Day
Tuesday, April 17- Pajama Day
Wednesday, April 18 - Hat Day
Thursday, April 19 - MECC Spirit Day!

Fun Stations
Ms. CoCo and Ms. Lindsey are offering Fun Stations class again this summer through Maize Rec. It will be held at Maize Early Childhood building. Ages 2-7 (must be potty trained) 

Class is Monday and Wednesday's from 9-11:30 am or 12:30-3pm

Emergency Contacts
Please make sure that your child has at least one emergency contact listed in Skyward. If they don't and you need help adding please call us in the office at 722-3105.

A Note from PTO
 
Maize ECC PTO Wants You!
All officer positions are open for the 2018/2019 school year. If you are interested in holding an office, please email [email protected]. You must also be in attendance during the May 11th meeting at 11am.


Teacher Appreciation Week

This year, we have decided to go with a theme for teacher appreciation week. The theme is "Because You Lift Us UP!"

  • Monday, April 23: Drink "Up"! PTO will be providing staff with drinks from Sonic.
  • Tuesday, April 24: Wake "UP" with a Bagel Bar! A sign up has been posted on the PTO Facebook page.
  • Wednesday, April 25: Fill "UP" on Salad and Breadsticks! PTO will be providing a catered lunch from the Olive Garden
  • Thursday, April 26: Pamper "UP" with a Traveling Spa! PTO has arranged for chair massages and fun health/beauty product samples
If you would like to make a monetary donation to help the PTO purchase Sonic Drinks or Olive Garden lunch, please leave a check (made out to ECC PTO) or cash with Miss Kelli or Miss Sherri in the front office. If you are a sales rep for any company that sells health/beauty products and would like to donate samples of your products, please contact the PTO at [email protected] for more information.
 
We are encouraging students and their parents to participate in the following days:

  • Monday: "All About my Teacher"- Fill out the form
  • Tuesday: "Favorite Treat Day"- Bring your teacher their favorite snack or drink
  • Wednesday: Teachers are a "gift"- Bring a small gift card to your teacher's favorite bookstore, restaurant, snack shop, movie theater, coffee shop, etc.
  • Thursday: Thank You Thursday- Show appreciation through a card and/or flower. 
We will be sending a packet home with your student in the next couple of weeks.
