Diocesan Fund for Clergy Critical Needs
Applications due Friday, June 1
(for consideration at the June 7 meeting of the Committee)
The Diocesan Fund for Clergy Critical Needs Committee allocates grants to canonically resident priests, deacons or congregations of the Diocese of New York, as follows:
  • Medical/dental and other needs. See the application form here.
  • Educational grants. See the application form here.

First Steps Grants
Applications due Friday, June 15
First Steps Grants are small grants of up to $2,500 each that are awarded to Episcopal churches in the diocese. The sole purpose of First Steps Grants is to grow the Episcopal Diocese of New York by creating stronger and healthier parishes. A total of $10,000 is available from the diocesan budget for this program. Funds awarded under this program are to support projects for which applicants can articulate how they will result in spiritual and numerical growth, and have the potential to be replicated at other parishes in the diocese. First Steps Grants are not intended for on-going operating expenses, benevolence, or capital improvements.

Filing deadline was March 1 - If you missed it, please file ASAP!
All congregations should have received the 2017 Parochial Report Mailing from the Executive Office of the General Convention which included an explanatory letter along with the congregation's Unique Episcopal Identifier (UEID) and Personal Information Number (PIN) for online filing. Bedell Fund Grant
Open to churches in Region II (Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties)
St. Matthew's Church, Bedford accepts applications from Region II churches for a grant for capital projects from the Bedell Fund.  The applicant must demonstrate stability and vitality and the commitment of the congregation to the project.  For more information and to apply, click here.
Church Club of New York
The Church Club works to strengthen the life and faith of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion by offering interchurch fellowship, educational, service, and social opportunities, and supports theological education and service ministries of young adults in the surrounding dioceses. The Fellowship of Reconciliation ( www.forusa.org) is an international interfaith movement with branches and affiliated groups in over 50 countries. FOR was founded in Cambridge, England in December 1914, and the US branch was founded in Garden City, New York in 1915. The US branch, organized as a New York not-for-profit corporation, is moving from its current headquarters in Nyack and is seeking a new space to rent, preferably on a church property, in or closer to New York City.  We are looking for a space that can function as an administrative center with 2 to 3 employees, either as one open space or multiple smaller offices. The right to use a conference room, parish hall or other similar space for periodic meetings with visitors to organize things like UN conferences would also be appreciated.
