Catalytic Seed Grants Available to Support Pilot Projects
The ICTR invites  faculty members  to request seed grants to generate data for the development of new extramural grant applications. Applications are now available through our portal . Projects supported under this program must involve clinical or translational research. Applications for seed funding must fall into one of three categories: 1) Learning Healthcare System Science; 2) Lifespan research and/or studies in special populations; or 3) Projects that build on mentored career development awards. In the latter category, any faculty member with a peer-reviewed career development award—NIH, AHA, ADA, ACS, etc—is eligible and should contact us (see below) by May 6 to submit a letter of intent.

Career Development Grant Awardees Meet with the Deans
On April 12th, many junior faculty enrolled in the Mentoring for Translational and Team Science (MeTTS) Program came together for a reception with Dean Gordon Tomaselli and Executive Dean Ed Burns. The faculty members heard about their vision for Einstein-Montefiore, and discussed how they see their careers succeeding.

The MeTTS networking group is led by Dr. Michal Melamed and Dr. Paul Marantz and was created to help junior faculty in the Einstein-Montefiore system who are receiving career development awards in clinical and translational research. This group network includes all Einstein faculty engaged in clinical/translational research and who have federal, foundation, or institutional career development awards and meets monthly for presentations and discussions designed to support their transition to independent research careers, in order to complement their individual and departmental career development support with a broad and diverse support network.
