"Persevere with passion. Lead with kindness."
April 2, 2018

Dear Sweeny Families,

Our fifth annual ROAR Run presented by Mid-Missouri Bank is May 5th. This is a great opportunity for our school community to come together.

The ROAR Run is an effort to provide students an opportunity to reach their goal of completing an official race after participating in Run Club, raise funds for each of our school buildings and bring the Republic community together for a healthy family event! Visit  republicschools.org/roarrun  for more!

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding ROAR Run or anything occurring at Sweeny, please contact us!

Celebrations

We would like to celebrate the members of the Sweeny Math Team that qualified for the regional competition in Bolivar!

Congratulations to Anna Hawks, Autumn Pederson, Kaelyn Hall, Allie Day, Samuel Howell, Kinsey Owen, and Emma Johnson!
These students spent many hours after school and at home practicing for the competition!

Sweeny Showcase

Please join us on April 19th for our Sweeny Showcase!

At the Showcase, you will visit your child's classroom to see a student led conference. Your child will lead you through a conference to update you on their personal and academic goals, share their celebrations, and let you know how they are progressing so far this school year.

PTO will also be serving FREE walking tacos to all families in attendance! We hope to see you there!

RHS Baseball Sweeny Night

The Republic High School Baseball team is hosting a Sweeny Night on April 3rd! Come and root on the Tigers with free admission for students and half price admission for Sweeny families!

Sharpen the Saw

I March, students learned about Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw. This habit means taking care of yourself by focusing on you mind, spirit, body, and heart.

With your child focus on:

1. Finding ways to exercise together to take care of your body

2. Doing a random act of kindness to brighten someone's day

3. Seeking ways to exercise your mind and learning something new together

4. Taking time to reflect

We know that you have to take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
