HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 16, 2018) – Washington County Government has issued a state of emergency due to the severity of flash flooding in the areas of Sharpsburg and the area of Rt. 67 south of Gapland Road to the County line. These areas continue to be monitored by Emergency Management. Many of the accompanying roads within these areas remain impassable to vehicle traffic.  

Washington County Division of Emergency Services and other County Government agencies remain on-site. Emergency Service units and Washington County Highway Department have confirmed that multiple roadways in the area remain impassable, with several having physical roadway damage.
