Principal's Message

Murwood Families,

Thank you to everyone who came to our Superintendent Coffee Monday morning with Marie Morgan. It is great to hear directly from you regarding your ideas on how to make Murwood even better.
Tonight is a foodie fest for our families!  We have WCEF 20% night at Habit Burger from 4-9 and our Fourth Grade families are hosting a pizza night at Lamorinda Pizza on  3206 Danville Boulevard in Alamo from  4-8:30 to raise funds for next year's science camp.

Hearfelt thanks and appreciation to our PTA President, Danielle Scheg, for her strong leadership these past two years.  We have some exciting new faces on our PTA board and hope you will join us.  We are always looking for new ideas and welcome your participation at any level.  A warm welcome to new President, Mus Goumi.  We look forward to working with you.

See you Friday at 6 PM for the Spring Sing and Picnic!

Thank you,
Carol Nenni
Principal
From the Office

Dear Parents/Guardians-

Please remember to pack your child (or better yet, have them do it!) a healthy snack for their morning recess. Most students can't make it to lunch without refueling in the morning.  For students who occasionally forget a snack, the office will provide one. Over the past week, we gave out an average of 8-10 snacks per day!  While we will never turn any student away, this adds up to a lot of snacks and we often run out and then do not have snacks for those who really need them. So again, we please ask that you send your child with a snack everyday.

Thank you.

Office Manager
From the PTA President

Last night's PTA Meeting was great!  Thank you to  Mrs. Rathert and Mrs. Blank for presenting on How to Avoid the Summer Slide!  It was such an informative presentation with great tips on how to make math, reading, writing, etc fun for your children during the summer.

So many Thank You's!!  Thank you to Yannick Edwards for all of her hard work and time spent on the new PTA Website.  We all loved the demonstration last night!  We are going to have one great site that is easy to navigate with tons of great information!!

The Spring Sing and Picnic is Friday!

The Spring Sing and Picnic is on May 18th. The picnic starts at 6 PM and the concert starts at 6:30 PM.
Student Leadership - RRR Club

Come to the Spring Sing not only to watch your child sing and hang out with friends, but also to pick up some summer reading. Student Leadership has a RRR club to encourage students to reduce, reuse and recycle.  They are sponsoring a Book Drive at the concert to get gently used books into the hands of young Murwood readers.  Come by our table to pick up a "new" book.
Honor an Extraordinary Volunteer

Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile for the Murwood community this year? It's time to nominate that person for an Honorary Service Award. The PTA seeks to recognize those in our school community who make a difference in the lives of the students at Murwood. If you know of a parent, teacher, staff member, or other community member who deserves this recognition, please click here  to complete the nomination form. Nominations are due by May 11, 2018. They can be turned into the school office or emailed to Renee White at [email protected]. Please contact Renee with any questions.
