Dorothy Anderson Daniel 1930 - 2018  

DOYLESTOWN -- Dorothy J. Daniel, age 88, passed away on March 30, 2018.   Born on February 10, 1930, in Westfield, N.J., to the late Herbert W. and Dorothy (Thompson) Anderson, she was a resident of Doylestown for 65 years.   Raised in Wadsworth,

Dorothy was a graduate of Wadsworth High School Class of  1948 and was a Martha Holden Jenning Scholastic Graduate of Miami University in Oxford Class of 1952.   She retired from Chippewa Local Schools with 27 years of service teaching at Hazel Harvey Elementary, and co-authored educational reference books.   She was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church, past President and member of Delta Kappa Gamma, unit treasurer of the Salvation Army, and a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.   She enjoyed wood carving, golf, and art, including multiple commissions for the Doylestown commemorative plates.

In addition to her parents;  Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynne;  grandson, Ray Allen;  and brother, Bill Anderson.   She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William "Bill";  daughter, Jayne (Ray) Donnell; grandson, David (Leigh Anne) Benedic;  great grandchildren, Emmett and Ada Lynne;  son-in-law, Rick Benedic;  other family and many friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230, with Pastor Dale Warrick, officiating.   Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.   Friends may call on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
