Editor's Note: Wildcat Weekly moving to summer schedule
During the summer months, the Wildcat Weekly will move to a more limited schedule. After the May 15 edition, Wildcat Weekly will be sent out once in June and July, and will resume its regular weekly schedule in August. The summer publishing dates are as follows: June 12 and July 17, and resuming August 14.
Students in the Innovative Manufacturing Club at K-State Polytechnic have been chosen to compete against other collegiate teams in season three of the invention competition TV series, "Make48."
Professional pilot students on the  Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus  have a new option to consider in their career search and it includes significant financial assistance toward one of their flight certificates.
From commencement rehearsal time to ordering a cap and gown, K-State Polytechnic's assistant registrar Kathy Sanders is providing helpful reminders for graduates and those planning on attending the ceremony.

Scholarship opportunities
Study Abroad
If you are interested in studying abroad in the Summer 2018 semester, the $5,000 Gilman scholarship is now open. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen who is pell grant eligible and who will do a study abroad program that is longer than 3 weeks. Summer School Students
Thinking of attending KSU this summer? Once you have enrolled in all of your summer classes, fill out the Summer Financial Aid Application and get it submitted. We will determine if you have any financial aid (or scholarships) available to you this summer.
All Students
The Leaders Save Lives blood drive runs from June 1 to August 31 . This program is designed specifically for students ages 16-24 years old and allows them to host a blood drive and earn money and possibly win one of six $1,000 scholarships. If students want to work as a team there are limitations but options as well. Please contact Dené Sheridan in the Fiscal Services office if you are interested.
Pilot Students
AOPA is offering a number of scholarships for students to use for flight costs. There are scholarships for primary flight training and advance ratings (instrument, commercial, CFI, CFII, multi) DEADLINE: May 2
Regional Airline Association is offering four $4,000 scholarships to aviation students. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. DEADLINE: May 7
The Paul A. Whelan Aviation scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship open to any aviation major. Must be a sophomore or higher with a minimum GPA of 2.5. DEADLINE: May 15
Campus life
The First Generation Spotlight celebrates individuals on the Polytechnic Campus who were the first in their family to achieve the accomplishment of a bachelor's degree.
Human resources, benefits & training
The annual Clery Act training for campus security authorities, or CSAs, will be distributed via email Monday, April 30. CSAs will have 45 days to complete their training.
Volunteer Opportunities
K-State Polytechnic has been given a challenge of collecting 1000 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese for Project Salina, which will go to help organizations like Center for Domestic Violence, Ashby House, Salvation Army and the Gospel Mission.
