BY TOMORROW, MAY 17!
Sabor Latino (Latin Flavor) returns to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School next Sunday! Please join the fun and experience first-hand the vibrant ministry to Hispanics just seven miles south of our campus.
Iglesia Luterana San Pablo has been vigorously reaching out to the Hispanic community in Aurora since it became an independent Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation a little more than twelve years ago. In the past San Pablo held a Fiesta with food and music and opportunities for fellow Lutherans to share their stories and garner support. Now this incredible event is coming back to Immanuel.
Just a sampling of what to expect:
´ Hear Hector David share his faith through music. (For those attended the joyful Cinco de Mayo celebration at Engstrom Park, here is another chance to enjoy Hector’s music!)
´ Savor delicious food prepared by the people of Iglesia San Pablo.
´ Meet new friends who share a common faith
´ Learn how to support this vital ministry.
San Pablo has been a shining star in terms of how to successfully reach out to the growing Hispanic population. Join us at Sabor Latino to experience this vibrant faith community and learn how to be part of it. RSVP by calling Sonia at Iglesia San Pablo at 630 820 3450, signing up on the sheet in the church lobby, or emailing Sonia at

CALL COMMITTEE NEWS
In addition to the openings announced last week, we have learned that music teacher Katie Rudy is expecting and will therefore not be returning to ILS in the fall. We are thrilled for Katie and Jonathan, but will miss her on our staff. Therefore, ILS has full- and part-time teaching positions available in preschool, music, first grade, and middle school for fall 2018.
Principal Donna Laughlin reviewed current ILS teachers and their skills and a search committee conducted preliminary interviews. This committee continues to interview candidates for contract positions.
Donna requested, and the MMC agreed, that two Call Committees be formed. These committees will make recommendations to the congregation after prayerfully considering the positions and possible candidates. Both Call Committees have met and interviews began this week. Weekly updates will be shared in publications and on The City. Please keep these committees in your prayers.
First Grade Call Committee: Andrea Carroll, Katie Hughes, Julaine Kammrath, Donna Laughlin, Dan Nottke, Christine Olsen, Keith Riddell, and Penny Suydam. Chairperson John Barry may be contacted at barry_john@outlook.com.
Middle School Call Committee: Sheryl Dauksha, Larry Fass, Elvin Harms, Donna Laughlin, Amy Lewis, Judy Nelson, and Michele Schroeder. Chairperson Julie McFarland may be contacted at juliemc218@aol.com.
POSITION INFORMATION
The four positions made available this spring are in the middle school as well as Grade 1 and Preschool 4. Minimum requirements are a BA in Education and state certification, but highly qualified applicants who meet guidelines for a Call will receive priority consideration. Interested parties are invited to send documents at their earliest convenience to:
