 WESTVILLE BOWL WINS STREET CLOSURE PERMISSION
January 23, 2020, The New Haven Independent, by Thomas Breen- The operators of the planned new Westville Bowl outdoor music venue won permission to close down an adjacent block of Yale Avenue this summer on days when the former tennis stadium will host concerts.
The City Plan
Commission granted that unanimous approval Wednesday night during its regular monthly meeting in the municipal office building at 200 Orange St.
NHCPA Outdoors LLC, a subsidiary of the nonprofit that owns the College Street Music Hall downtown, won the right to
convert the tennis stadium next to the Yale Bowl at 45 Yale Ave. into an outdoor music and comedy venue.

While navigating the boundaries between the social and the private self, how do you publicly express something real and authentic? We invite you to share some aspect of the true you, whether through a traditional version of self portraiture or some other, less conventional window to your soul. We want to know you and see you as you see yourself. We welcome any media or form of self expression in your expression of self, anticipating that this collection of selves, of I AM, will become a powerful, revelatory voice of WE ARE. Islamic militants occupy the ancient malian city of Timbuktu, imposing a regime of terror by the jihadists determined to control their faith. ECMS opened in August 2014 as New Haven's first public Montessori school. They are a local public charter school serving preschool - 6th grade students.

MARJORIE GLLETTE WOLFE, SEPIESSA POINT @KEHLER LIDDELL GALLERY
Marjorie Gillette Wolfe has been visiting Martha's Vineyard since she was a little girl. Originally from New Haven, Wolfe continues to visit the Vineyard - sometimes as many as 10 times in a year - and found Sepiessa Point in a hiking guidebook some twenty years ago. Sepiessa Point Reservation borders Tisbury Great Pond, and the pond is contained in part by a barrier beach. The beach is periodically opened to the Atlantic for the health of the ecosystem. Wolfe's collection of nearly thirty photographs were all taken within a couple of acres - some even from the exact same vantage point - and paint a picture of Sepiessa throughout the seasons, during different weather and times of day. "It works in a magical way for me," says Wolfe. "Every time I go there, it's different." Though some of the works have been shown individually, and some are brand new, they have never been shown as a cohesive collection, creating a retrospective of sorts, of the place, as well as the artist's connection to it.
