Group Q&A
Before the main presentation, please plan to be a part of our group Q&A session.  During this 15 minute session, we'll open the meeting for any Business Analysis questions, or questions related to the evening's topic. This is your chance to leverage the massive collective experience of the chapter to address questions or problems you are facing as a BA and would like to get the groups input. You may also be the one with just the right piece of information or advice for a question raised to the group.

Message from the Chapter Board
By Linda Meserve, VP of Communications colorful-tulip-field.jpg

I love spring.  It is always a time for new things to appear from the ground (and sometimes from the snow).  The sunshine and warm weather signal a time for new growth.
It is also a good time to begin that next step in our professional development.  As business analysis professionals, there is often more to try, more to learn, than we think may be possible.  Where does one find the time?
Good news! It only takes a small step to continue on our path of learning.  Maybe it's taking an hour or a week, or maybe 30 minutes a day, a part of the regular schedule.  Is there an article you set aside because it looked interesting?  A chapter in a book?  Is there a tool or technique you have been wanting to try?  A bit of time, after time, after time, can yield surprising results.
And remember -- You are not alone on the journey.  Join us at our chapter meeting, May 16.  You will find it a great opportunity to trade ideas with fellow professionals.  We look forward to seeing you!
Chapter Elections
By Linda Meserve, VP of Communications   business-presentation.jpg
Spring is often a season of rapid change here in Colorado.  The warmth and sunshine invite us to explore and stretch to the horizons.  May and June are also a season of change for IIBA Denver.  Our Nomination Committee is actively seeking volunteers who are willing to serve as directors.  Normally, board members serve a two year term, with each year starting July 1 and ending June 30.

This year, some board members are relocating away from the Denver area, others are seeking new roles within the board, and other are running for their current office. We have room for new directors, and we invite your participation.  If you are interested in serving, please check out our web page concerning qualifications at denver.iiba.org/board-directors

Our board consists of six elected positions, supported by our leadership team at denver.iiba.org/elections-nominations

Then contact the Nomination Committee at info@denver.iiba.org or reach out directly to any board member.  Thank you for considering this opportunity!

This month, we honor Sandi Byron as our Volunteer of the Month.  Sandi serves on the board as our VP of Marketing.  In the past few years, Sandi has positioned us to take advantage of a number of excellent opportunities. She designed our current sponsorship plans and has a true heart for extending the chapter into local universities.  Sandi works among us as a servant leader, and you have no doubt noticed the food and beverages she picks up for each general meeting.  She has also written BABOK section summary articles for the newsletter for last few years.  We deeply appreciate you, Sandi.  Thank you for all you do!
