BOOK OF ACTS BIBLE STUDY

Our Adult Forum series this year is a Bible Study designed for those who have read the Bible and others who are new to the concept of a Bible Study. Learn about the history and theology of the early Church and how this relates to your life in Christ in an encouraging, non-threatening atmosphere. We will gather in the Vestry Room after an opportunity to get some coffee and treats and say hello to our neighbors during the Fellowship Hour for a study lasting between 45 minutes to an hour on the listed days .

Luke will be our guide as we relive the events of the early church. Catch the wind of the same spirit that brings renewed life to today's Christians. Participants will visit the key personalities, review their activities, reflect on their meaning, and discover their message to the Church today.

COMPOSTABLE CUPS AT ST. PAUL'S

We're saying "goodbye" to our small
water bottles at St. Paul's.

In an effort to be better stewards of the environment, we have installed a new faucet in the kitchen sink. The new faucet comes with a purifying filter (located under the cabinet). This means we can have tasty, clean water to drink right there at the kitchen sink. We have also purchased compostable cups (along with a new trash receptacle). The cups will be placed in our composter beside the rectory garage. If you feel you need a lid for your drink, please consider bringing a water bottle to church. You can leave it here, if you wish (just write your name in indelible ink), and feel free to keep it in our kitchen cabinet.

ST. PAUL'S BOOK CLUB

   St. Paul's Book Club meets
Wednesday, February 5th at 7 p.m. at the Rectory

This month's book choice is Florida  by Lauren Goff

Welcome to the captivating world of Lauren Groff's Florida , where assumptions  of sunshine state stories-smiling and sunburned children, relaxed parents,  moments of unencumbered joy-are shattered and reassembled into a world  of darkened forests, nighttime walks and ferocious storms. As Groff writes, Florida is "a damp, dense tangle. An Eden of dangerous things." And, "Walk outside in Florida and a snake will be watching you." There is a   mythic quality to these eleven stories that explore the underbelly of life and the fury of nature. In spirit and in reality, mothers abandon their children, hurricanes and rainstorms ruin vacations--marooning children alone on islands--and as a reader you're left to wonder if the destruction caused by humans is worse that the destruction caused by nature. Moody, rapturous and filled with crystalline prose, Florida is a menacing marvel of a collection. -Al Woodworth

LITURGICAL REVISION:  An Opportunity to Participate

A new website, www.EpiscopalCommonPrayer.org, provides        Episcopalians with opportunities to participate in the liturgical revision called for by Resolution A068 of the 2018 General Convention.

The site is available in English and Spanish. Developed by the Task Force on Liturgical and Prayer Book Revision, the website includes draft documents that outline plans and principles to guide work on new liturgical texts.  It also serves as a clearinghouse of all liturgies already approved for use by General Convention.  The website includes a submission page designed to collect feedback on the draft documents, ideas for liturgical revision and liturgies that have been developed by dioceses and local congregations. Before its next meeting in April, members of the task force request that bishops, liturgical officers and diocesan liturgical commissions study both the draft documents it has produced and the provisions of Resolution 2018-A068 and respond via the website .
